Postcards from South Queensferry

Queensferry, South Queensferry EH30, UK

Since moving back to Fife, I make various trips to Edinburgh every week so when my friend and I arranged to meet - despite my love for Scotland's Capital - I was keen to meet somewhere else for a change. We settled on South Queensferry. So on a rather dreary Wednesday morning, I hopped on a train to Dalmeny train station. After, a short walk - roughly 20 mins - I found myself on South Queensferry's quaint coastal High Street.

We spent an hour or so wandering up and down the High Street and part of the beach, until the weather turned and we found ourselves huddling against the drizzle and winds. My friend recommend the Railbridge Bistro for lunch, and thankfully we were reasonably near it.

The Railbridge Bistro is a homely restaurant with a small shop attached to it. My friend opted for the Pulled Pork served with barbecue sauce and cheese mash potato, and I enjoyed their Veggie Club Sandwich toasted double decker with Applewood Smoked Cheddar, homemade coleslaw, lettuce and tomato served with chips. One of the highlights was gazing out onto the stunning Forth Rail Bridge.
